I watched a lot of movies during my recovery, enjoy!
X-Men Origins: Wolverine

I really only watched this to get myself ready for Deadpool and Wolverine. And to be clear, you do not need to watch this movie to understand Deadpool and Wolverine. I just wanted to watch it for the heck of it, since I had never seen it.
Bodies Bodies Bodies

This movie log features a lot of horror/thriller movies as I needed more experience in that genre to write my horror movie for class. I also loved the social commentary in this film, the dialogue was just perfect.
Logan

Again, homework for Deadpool and Wolverine, although it’s a shame I waited until now to watch it. Truly redefines what a superhero movie is.
Deadpool and Wolverine

Yes, it really is that gay. In total seriousness, this movie felt like the Marvel movies of the late 2000s or even the early-to-mid 2010s: just fun goofiness. Check your brain at the door, don’t worry too hard about it.
The Ritual

Again, needing to watch more horror to write more horror. I read that this one had a cool eldritch monster so I had to watch it. I gotta say, I love the subtle horror elements in the film, and the monster was super cool. I will say, the story was a pretty simple set up and a tad predictable.
Missing

I love these kinds of movies, they feel like reading an epistolary novel.
Red Rocket

My third Sean Baker film! What was up with that ending?
I’m Thinking of Ending Things

I watched Charlie Kaufman’s Adaptation for a film class assignment a few years ago, and this was much, much weirder. Again, I wanted to watch something that fit with my genre of psychological horror. I loved the tension building throughout, and the easter eggs and small clues were so cool. I actually read the spoilers a few years back, so it made a bit of sense, though part of me wishes I had gone into it blind.
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair

I watched I Saw The TV Glow a few months ago, and I wanted to watch Jane Schoenbrun’s other film. Like ISTTVG, it was mind-bending and so fascinating, especially in regards to Schoenbrun’s article about how this movie was about learning about queerness or transness, and I Saw The TV Glow was about discovering that within yourself.
Fear Street 1994, 1978, 1666

I’m counting these as three movies for my movie log, but I’ll review them as one. The first two movies felt like the stereotypical Netflix movies/shows, with exposition-heavy dialogue and very quick, fast paced scenes. The final film is the one that shines above all of them, with the well-done backstory and incredibly tense final battle. Overall, a very enjoyable yearly trilogy to binge, though not without some rough patches.
Lorax

After watching the Fear Street trilogy, I needed a palette cleaner, so I decided to watch the film that birthed one of tumblr’s most famous sexymen. The music was very catchy though. Also, I miss Betty White.
Trick or Treat Scooby Doo

I would be lying if I said I watched this to get into the “Spooky Season”; I did do it for that, but also for Lesbain Velma. Another thing I liked about this was the animation! It was so fluid, it reminded me of Animaniacs and other Hanna-Barbera cartoons. There was one shot where all the villains are tied up, and I assume they were villains from the older shows. As someone who actually never watched those (I was always partial to the Scooby Doo live actions) I didn’t really get that reference, but that’s on me.
Practical Magic

Another required viewing for Witchy Girl Autumn. The soundtrack SLAPS and I love the sister dynamic between the two main characters.
